The Monday Sessions: Some Ukulele Nonsense
Part of The Monday SessionsAbout Some Ukulele Nonsense
Part of a song written back in 2004 (I’ve got the demo of it somewhere), and I’ve re-worked it here as an acoustic instrumental.
More of a rough test than anything. Recorded last week using the Acappella app on my iPhone 6s+. Kept things simple, using my Baritone Ukulele (a personal favourite).
Some initial thoughts on the Acappella app
There’s a bit more hiss here, than I would’ve liked – but the recording equipment here was literally the microphone on the iPhone headset. There is also a little lag, which is notable when recording. So the end result is a little rough and ready.
I shouldn’t complain really. At the end of the day, I have paid good money for albums that feature a fair amount of tape hiss.
I’m looking into ways of getting a better sound out it, but more on that at a later date. In the meantime, the first of the Monday Sessions; Some Ukulele Nonsense is below.
I hope you enjoy it.
About The Monday Sessions
A quick introduction into what The Monday Sessions are all about; where I can, I'm planning on recording at least one of these every two weeks. I plan to record, edit and mix them, and have them ready on Mondays. 🙂

So back in 2004 to 2006, I could quite often be found in the basement of an office block in Kingston, playing guitar with 3 other musicians. We never performed live, but we'd meet up at least twice a week and play whatever songs we felt like. Around 2005, I began to...

About Merry Xmas Everybody As John Lennon once sung, so this is Christmas... So yeah, as Christmas approached us this year, I began to consider whether I should bother recording a festive song or not. Now, I'm not the biggest fan of Christmas songs, most of them are...
